MEET OUR TEAM
AL HORNER
Founder
Al Horner was a man of exceptional courage, vision, and dedication. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, as well as earning an MBA from the University of Minnesota, Al’s journey was marked by his unwavering commitment to service and transformation. As a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy SEALs, he honed a rare resilience and leadership, deeply ingrained in every aspect of his life.

After years of serving his country, Al turned his focus to revitalizing struggling companies, guiding six businesses through successful turnarounds. His career as an entrepreneur and business leader was distinguished by his ability to see potential in others and inspire excellence.

Al’s most enduring legacy, however, is his founding of “NotMe!”—an organization dedicated to assault prevention and personal safety. Driven by a deep sense of purpose, Al embedded the principles he learned as a SEAL into the NotMe! curriculum, offering empowering, practical skills to help individuals protect themselves and those they love. Under his leadership, “NotMe!” has trained tens of thousands of people to be safer since its inception in 2008.

An avid outdoorsman, conservationist, and former Navy SEAL, Al exemplified a spirit of protection and respect for life in all he did. His passing in August 2021 was a profound loss, but his legacy continues, as the work of “NotMe!” remains a testament to his life’s mission: preventing pain and saving lives.
